Roadside Rootballs of McDowell, Virginia

I’ve been traveling to West Virginia and back a lot lately for work and, naturally, I keep an eye out for rootballs (doesn’t eveybody?) I photographed the one above, today, in the town of McDowell, Virginia. I spotted the one below as I passed through the same area back on August 23rd.
