A quick trip to Kitty Hawk
We had a tiny bit of work to do at the Kitty Hawk job site this week, and made an overnight trip out of it.
I’ve been passing by the Wright Brothers National Memorial all my life and never stopped until today.
It was an inspiring visit. If you go, be sure to listen to the presentation by the park ranger – he tells a good story.
I love the Art Deco monument.
…and especially enjoyed the bronze sculptures.
…and especially little details of the bronze sculptures.
but, why does it seem like there are ZOMBIES everywhere you go these days? Case in point:
After our visit to the memorial, we ate lunch at the best little out-of-the-way restaurant, The Salt Box Cafe.
Our meal was excellent, but I didn’t photograph the food. The rest of the photos were shot on the way home:
The well moored boat.
The gorgeous collard field in Currituck.
The farmer was selling them for $1.50 a plant.
Farther down the road…
Cotton fields near Zuni, VA.
