Radixspaira callinectes

From Latin and Greek sources: Radix = root / spaira = sphere / calli = beautiful / nectes = swimmer. This one looked like a crab, and “Callinectes” is the genus of which our local blue crab is a member. I’m naming the rootballs, now, using a binomial system similar to scientific naming. For me, this works well with the straight on, center-line symmetry of the pictures where I’m associating my pictures with scientific illustrations of specimens I’ve worked with on natural history projects in the past. Oh, and below is the earlier phase of this specimen. If this was a crab, this would be the “Megalopa” phase:
