Welcome to John Moser's Image Workshop / Playground

Frankenstorm

Hurricane Sandy churns, heading north from Cuba. We are in the cone. The meteorologists are saying the impact for central Virginia may be similar to Irene. Let’s hope for minimal damage, and if trees must fall, may they have good rootballs!

As nearly as I can tell, the trees in Bryan Park are intact.

  3. Like the tones of this and the original in previous post.

We are lucky with this weather event when the worst part for me was not finding D cell batteries for my Mag-lite. My batteries had lasted since I had paid 20$ for a led bulb for my Mag-lite many years ago. I picked up a COAST led pen light that throws a spot like a theater stage light, Very Cool!

Althea’s birthday yesterday was fun in spite of my severe dental problem which got an Exodontia (tooth removal) today. Losing the HMS Bounty and etc. is sad though. We did see a couple of folks posing with enormous rootballs on the national news. It was odd we get to watch the event that usually puts us off the grid.

Our old friend Douglas that lives on his boat was on Mark Holmberg’s report last night :

  7. Sure enough the leaves from our Maple are almost gone today from the rain last night. I have a sense of guilt that I didn’t stop the truck and take more pictures of the good foliage turning I was seeing while driving. More dental work tomorrow along with being presented with my first partial, there are worse things in life so I am grateful even though blue.

Look forward to more of of your autumn foliage series I know you must haven’t had time to post yet!

My root canal is scheduled for next Tuesday. This will be the third attempt, but I finally found a one-stop shop that can do the whole job and they are helping with my anxiety issues. I am still working on images while I try to get other work done that’s in a higher priority position. The labor time on each of the recent images is very high – some of these are taking several days to finish. I have a bit of a backlog of completed images, though… maybe it’s time for a blog update.
