Quarles Mill – 2011- in the woods

Getting a more in-depth view of Quarles Mill this time of year requires walking through thorny thickets so dense that a machete’ would’ve been in order. But lacking that luxury, all you can do is wade in and hope for the best. The fun part is that, everywhere you turn there are ruins of old stone work that look like the best copperhead habitat you’ve ever seen. I was stepping very slowly and trying my best to get a good view of every foothold.
