Another Geo Sand Anti Castle
Last day at the beach, running out of steam a bit on a hot day, but wanted to try one more sand anti-castle. Didn’t have much time to work on this, so let’s call it a “study.” This was made by standing and digging a small hole, then pivoting on one foot and digging another small hole. The “tailings” from the digging were thrown towards the center of a grouping of holes and as the sand began to pile up, it acquired “gravity,” with the inverse square law being loosely applied to help me decide where to put the sand. I was thinking of the process as a model of dispersion and accretion along a gravitational plane, with the holes being like black holes jetting out particles. This was probably all the result of the hot sun bearing down on the astronomy themed hat I was wearing. Some people play cards at the beach. I do this. Don’t think either one is better than the other, but I enjoy getting lost in thinking and doing (action musing).
